Random musings from a Texan transplant

This site contains random things that I find interesting. Most are NSFW and definitely not suitable for humans under under the age of 18 or for those who find same-sex issues something which requires them to examine (or re-examine) their core beliefs (THIS SITE IS NOT FOR HOMOPHOBES.). Please review my archive before following my blog. All items are taken from the internet. If an image is of you and you want it to be removed from my page, then let me know.

Every time I hear someone lie and say they don’t notice color because they’re ~*colorblind*~ I imagine myself punching them in the mf nose, then running and hiding nearby and listening to them tell the police they are unable to describe me adequately because they never noticed I was black

The Hottest Water in Chicago: Notes of a Native Daughter by Gayle Pemberton
Gayle Pemberton shares the accumulated revelations of a lifetime of observation in sixteen provocative autobiographical essays, interweaving her own history and that of her family with reflections on American literature, art, music, and film. Building on the tradition of such writers as W.E.B. Du Bois, James Baldwin, and Ralph Ellison, but with a wisdom and sharp wit uniquely her own, Pemberton moves from the integration of a transient hotel in Chicago to a party on that city’s Gold Coast; from journeys by train and the memories they provoke to reflections on race aboard ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean; from the Mickey Mouse Club to the ghost of Emmett Till; from Harvard to Hollywood.  [book link]

House GOP to push for bases on Mars, the moon in new bill
NBC News: House Republicans are pushing for a base on Mars and will discuss their plan at a meeting of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee on Wednesday.
The plan is part of legislation to reauthorize NASA for two more years and the bill includes language not only advocating for a base on the surface of Mars, but also on the moon. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich infamously said during his 2012 presidential campaign that he planned to have a moon base in operation by 2020. A base on the moon could cost anywhere between $40 billion to $500 billion.
